Note: The following thread is a flashback, a memory, a dream. A light, soft breeze sweeps from the ocean, onto a tiny, exotic island, rustling palm fronds and relocating grains of sand. As the small gust of wind reaches the beach, a young girl steps into the path of the travelling breeze, her bright red hair attempting to catch onto the current. It was a quiet day on the Destiny Islands, and Kairi felt the need to explore her already over-explored island-- sure, she did it every day, but it just never gets old. Usually, she was accompanied by her two best friends, but at the moment, she was quite alone-- she liked the alonetime, for the time being; it'd give her the time she wanted to just relax.
Walking slowly, there was somewhat of a skip to her steps, as she reached the shabby little cabin that would lead her to the top of the little raised island. Upon reaching such, she clasped her hands behind her, cerulean optics dancing from cloud to cloud. "Wow, it's so peaceful and pretty... no wonder I love it here, so much." Giggling just a bit, she set off in a half-run, half-jog across the bridge and to the old tree that produced the "destinty-binding" paopu fruits. Such strange star-shaped fruits, they were. Sighing, she approached the low tree and vaulted herself atop the bench-like trunk with a huff. Slowly crawling, she grabbed onto one of the riper fruits, plucked it from it's stem and tossed it to the ground. After pushing herself to an upright position, she slid of the edge and landed with a thud. Slapping her hands together, in a attempt to brush whatever dust or dirt the had obtained, she scooped up the fruit and sauntered to the middle of the island. Looking out into the ocean, she idly turned the edible star around in her hands. It seemed so strange, to her-- especially what seemed to radiate from it. Some sort of.. power, yet it made her feel welcomed.
Beaming at the view in front of her, she wondered about the mysterious legend behind the paopu, and whether or not it worked. Slipping a single hand into a pocket, she withdrew a miniature, cloth version of the fruit-- her most prized, material possession, given to her by her grandmother in her years of childhood. Comparing the two for a second, the faces of Sora and Riku came to mind. She wondered.. would they be friends forever? And if there was a chance that could be dangered, wouldn't the paopu fruit ensure their everlasting friendship? Shaking her head, she gave the star a last smile before flinging it into the ocean and re-pocketing the charm. "Oh, it's just a fairy tale, I'm sure. Besides, what could possibly happen?" Nodding confidently, she plopped on her bottom to enjoy the last of the daylight and catch the sunset.

It was gentle, and it would feel soft as the cotton when it touched one's face, it was the breeze that blew, that dragged the fresh aroma of the Island, Destiny Islands. His figure, the adolescent figure rested against a palm tree, the tree supported his weight as he kept his gaze upon the horizon. He was sitting on the bent tree, that oddly was shaped in such form from as long as he, and the other kids of Destiny Islands can remember. In a moment, where a second was the longest, he drifted into what he saw, he was amazed, he was always wondering of what was out there, but not as much as his best friend, Riku. He didn't know if their best friend - the friend that he care for deeply as much as he care for Riku, the girl, Kairi thought the same of the worlds out there. " Riku? " He would hope saying his friend's name would get the other's attention, even when he said such, Sora's gaze would remain frozen, as he continued to gaze upon the Horizon.
Round crystal optics, held the image of the ocean, the environment, and that which his gaze was witness of; the Horizon. The waves continued to wash the ocean, to bring and form a wet sand on the shore of the Islands, though his hues could only see what he laid his eyes upon. He was in his own land, a wonderful land where dreams, his, Kairi's and Riku's dreams will one day come true. He was drowning in what the beautiful sight brought the sky, the ocean and land, to notice that Kairi, his--their friend was a feet away, down below from where the boys watched the ocean. His features were soft, were gentle as well as his gaze and posture, as he found himself comfortable on the palm tree that served him as a cozy seat. It had only been seconds, but to him it was everlasting moments, probably because he was captured in his own thoughts, and the view that the ocean offered to please his eyes, as well as the sky and land.
As the silver haired one's sound of questioning him, came, and reached the brunette's ears, he snapped from the world that would always capture him, and directed his attention, his gaze toward the older one, of the Destiny Islands kids. " Is there, " he paused, taking the pause to rephrase what he started, to ask his friend, what he wanted to ask in a different manner, " Are there other worlds? Other places? Other Islands besides this one, out there? " Head tilted, brunette bangs danced along with his head being tilted, and brushed against his forehead, spiky strands danced, like the blades of grass dancing with the wind. It was indeed a long question, but to make it easy of the other, he offered him a smile, was that enough? He hoped it was, anxious to hear Riku's answer, he turned his full attention to the older one, his face was holding childish features. Like that of a child waiting eagerly for his presents, for the presents, to be unwrapped, and hear the wrap paper crunch here and there, as well as being torn and ripped apart from its pretty look.

With hues shut, allowing the very feeling of the breeze to trace itself on the features that were exposed, to dance along with the bangs of silver hair, that would brush against his forehead. The breeze that brought a warm feeling, under the a sky that was bringing them a sunset, yet once again. He kept his eyes close for a moment, a second if possible, but that which was a moment, a second, was becoming a long period, he felt it in such manner. In fact, he would embrace it, with limb folded over the width of his chest, and his posture rested against the palm tree. He was leaning against it. The palm tree served him as a support, different from the way and manner Sora would make use of the palm tree. Taking a breath to fill his lungs, with the breeze, the ocean breeze that is. Shoulders, relaxed, strands of hair continued to brush against the skin of his face, and so his ears caught his name, coming from the familiar voice, sitting on the trunk of the palm tree. Turning his head some, to return Sora's look, he chuckled, at the questions, and so he nodded. " Yeah, there are worlds out there, Sora. "
A long pause would come, where he took in his own words into thoughts, never once lowering his head, instead he gaze forward. At the horizon, at the sunset, it was a calm feeling, it was a great sight, indeed. But even when Sora was deeply wrapped in the view, he was growing used to the sight every afternoon, each sunset was different, in many ways, even when it was known as a sunset. Deep ocean green hues, caught a figure, a familiar figure, known by both boys, her name; Kairi. Their best friend, and to him someone he cares and loves, knowing his friend had and shared the same feelings for her. Lips tugged the sides into a smirk, " Don't you think so? Haven't you wondered, why we're here on this place, Destiny Islands? I do, Sora. There are other worlds out there. Other islands, under one sky. " His tone came softly, and like a calm tune would be his answer to Sora's questions, but his smirk, before meant something else, indeed it did.
With that, the older adolescent pushed himself off and stepped froward from the palm tree that supported his weight, and turn on his heels to give Sora his complete attention. Arms fell against his sides, and once again his lips held that smirk, they had wore earlier, " Sora look, " a hand glided to the direction where Kairi was, alone and enjoying the sunset, an index finger was pointing toward her, pinpointing her direction. " It's Kairi. " Riku's tone was a content one, knowing Sora's attention would be instantly put on Kairi, their friend, knowing this, knowing the boy very well he chuckled. His hand lowered, arm once again rested against his side, " How about we have a race, Sora? " Offering this test to his friend, this game in between was common, was an every day thing between them two for her; Kairi. their games were always a meaningful idea, or doing. He lifted a silver brow, waiting for a Sora reaction, it would be defined and described such, for it was Sora's manner to be how he was, and there were times, Riku, himself would have trouble with figuring the boy out.

What she wouldn't give to spend a lifetime here. As the sun began to dip into the water, her thoughts drifting to the recent conversations held between herself and those two friends of hers. Other worlds... getting to them... exploring... how? When? ..why? Even though she was perfectly content right where she was, nestled in the middle of the ocean with her favorite people, she had to admit that visiting other worlds would be nice-- something new, something somewhat dangerous. Smiling a bit, she swayed, to and fro, watching as the sun almost disappeared. Flicking a few grains of sand into the air, she quickly stood, dusting herself off.
"Hm... I wonder where those two are, anyhow." Chuckling to herself, she turned around, placing each hand on the corresponding hip. "Probably arguing, somewhere~" Ahh, for that was the nature of those two. Competing, always competing against each other-- and she was the mediator for such events. After each event, she'd declare a winner, but for all she knew, it was just fun and games. Especially fun~

}{He sighed, content at what his eyes saw, at what he's ears heard, and spending his time, here, home; Destiny Islands. As he nodded toward his friend, with lips stretched from one ear to the other, " We'll go to our dreams, together. We'll find other worlds, and, we'll do it together. " He answered his friend, almost instantly after the silver haired one had spoken, to him. His gaze returned then to the sunset, the sun's last rays of light stretching out to reach the souls, their souls for one more day. A day gone, for a next to come. He stretched some, adjusting his structure on the palm's tree trunk, to of course, grin afterward. Blinking a few times, as if tried to get himself to see this day, the sunset for what it was, it was all real, and it was more realistic, when his ears heard her name.
" Kairi!? " He snapped from dream land into answering Riku's words, he could of have dive in down, and hurt himself, knowing that spending the rest of the day with her would be great. As he jumped down the trunk of the palm tree, and thudded as he landed on the sand, head adverted directly without any time to waste, toward, Kairi. " So, she was out, after all. " His tone was a sweet, content one, one could notice the enlightenment the boy would speak, when it came to her. As he heard Riku's challenge, he grinned, bringing a palm to rest against his side, and stand in such a defying stance, " You're on, Riku. This time, I will win. " He would thumb at himself, his lips played a confident grin about them, as he took his stance next to Riku.}{

Lifting her form to the tips of her toes, the girl stretched her arms, yawning rather lazily. Then turning around, she spotted those two figures that she recognized so well, gathered around a palm tree. Grinning broadly, she jumped up and down, waving. Knowing them, they were plotting a challenge for each other, but she skipped forward a few steps anyhow, calling out their names. "Sora! Riku! I didn't know you two were out here~!"
The grin never wavered as she continued forward. Yet, after a few more steps, she could clearly define their stances-- a race! Of course, as always. Shaking her head somewhat, she lifted a hand. "Alright you two, I see what's going on here."Allowing said hand to drop to her side, she tilted her head, watching her two friends in admiration, waiting for their small competition to begin.
